A vintage brass Ships Bell, with associated iron bracket, bell: 11in (28cm) high x 10in (25.5cm) diameter. Note: This bell hung for many years at The New Inn, Abbotsham, near Bideford. By local tradition the bell originated from H.M.S. Montagu, a Duncan-class battleship which ran aground off Lundy Island in 1906. Despite repeated attempts to refloat the ship she proved to be a total loss and she was ultimately broken up in situ.
